At Heskins, we understand that applying anything to porous surfaces can be challenging, as they are not always even and often have varying textures. Many factors come into play when applying our anti-slip tape. Fortunately, we have created this guide to help you apply floor tape to these surfaces as efficiently as possible.
Here is a List of Equipment You Will Need Before Beginning:
- Floor tape
- IPA cleaner
- Cloth
- Gloves
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Surface primer + brush
- Seam roller
- Edge sealant
Please ensure you have all equipment on hand to avoid any difficulties during the application process.
Step 1 – Use IPA Surface Cleaner to Clean the Application Area
The first step is critical – put your gloves on. Then take your 3508 IPA surface cleaner and a cloth, and thoroughly wipe down the surface. This step helps extend the life of the anti-slip tape and ensures a strong bond to the surface.

Step 2 – Measure Out the Tape and Application Area
For the second step, you need to get your measuring tape and determine how much anti-slip tape you will need to cover the porous surface, guaranteeing accurate results.

Step 3 – Cut the Tape to Length
Using your scissors, cut the anti-slip tape to the required length based on your measurements. This is an important step, as accurate cutting helps avoid unnecessary product waste.

Step 4 – Apply Surface Primer to the Porous Surface
Apply a generous amount of surface primer to the area where the anti-slip tape will be installed, using a brush to ensure even coverage. Surface Primer helps the adhesive perform effectively and prevents interference from dirt or moisture that could otherwise compromise the adhesive layer.

Step 5 – Expose the Adhesive Backing by Removing the Tape’s Liner
Peel off the protective liner from the back of the tape to expose the adhesive. Carefully begin positioning the tape onto the surface.

Step 6 – Remove Air Bubbles with a Pressure Roller
This step helps eliminate air bubbles and ensures the tape is securely applied. Using a seam roller, roll over the tape back and forth, applying even pressure across the entire surface.
