Installation Guide Non-Slip Tape on Chequered and Diamond Plates

Anti Slip Plates

Applying non-slip tape to uneven surfaces like chequered or diamond plates can seem daunting, but with the right approach, it’s easy. This guide outlines the most effective way to ensure your surfaces are safe and slip-resistant.

Equipment Needed:

  • Non-Slip Tape
  • IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) Cleaner
  • Tape Measure
  • Scissors
  • Rubber Mallet

Preparation is key, so gather your tools before starting the process.

Installation Steps:

Step 1: Clean the Surface with H3508 IPA Cleaner Start by thoroughly cleaning the application area with an IPA cleaner. This step is crucial for removing any dirt that could prevent the non-slip tape from adhering properly, thus extending its lifespan.

Step 2: Measure the Surface Use a tape measure to determine the length of the surface you’re covering. Secure the measurement on your tape measure to maintain accuracy.

Step 3: Determine Tape Length Needed Roll out the anti-slip tape alongside your tape measure to the length you’ve determined necessary. Accuracy here ensures no material is wasted.

Step 4: Cut the Tape With your scissors, cut the anti-slip tape to the desired length. Apply sufficient pressure to ensure a clean cut.

Step 5: Remove the Backing Liner The backing liner protects the tape’s adhesive from dust and facilitates easy storage and handling. Remove this liner when you’re ready to apply the tape.

Step 6: Align and Apply the Tape Carefully align the tape with the application area. Proper alignment is essential to prevent air pockets and to ensure the tape adheres well without the need for repositioning.

Step 7: Secure the Tape with a Rubber Mallet The final step involves using a rubber mallet to firmly secure the tape into place. This ensures full contact with the uneven surface, effectively making it slip-resistant.
